"We cannot accept the test report in that format." on Amazon: what it means

In a discussion about a Canadian listing, an Amazon reply says sections of the submitted report were unreadable, redacted or obscured. That explains this format refusal in that case. If your product is a children's toy for the US, the following checks cover its safety documents.

The things you must have

Check these first

If your product is a children's toy, you'll need its CPSC accepted laboratory report when checking the testing documents your factory supplies for the toy. If your product is sold as a children's toy, ask your factory for its Children's Product Certificate when collecting the paperwork supporting that toy's safety. If your toy has a painted surface, check the coating lead testing with your factory when reviewing the report covering that paint or similar coating. If your toy needs its chemical testing reviewed, you'll need to check the phthalate results with your factory for the materials used in that toy. If your toy has magnets or batteries, ask your factory which applicable toy safety tests cover those parts when reviewing the report for the product.
