"Hazmat (hazardous material) assessment is required" on Walmart: what it means
Walmart's guide says a product may be held for compliance review if it's hazardous or may contain hazardous material. The message doesn't identify the material. If your product contains lithium batteries, start with the battery transport checks below.
The things you must have
UN38.3 battery test summary: Ask your factory for its test summary; you'll keep it with the battery model's records.
Lithium battery package mark: Your factory marks the battery packaging; you'll ask for photos before shipping.
Country of origin marking: Your factory supplies English markings.
Check these first
If your battery pack contains lithium cells, you'll need its transport test summary when asking your factory for the documentation covering that finished battery pack. If your lithium battery pack needs its transport testing checked, ask for the transport test results when reviewing the test evidence supplied by your factory. If your lithium battery pack will be shipped, check its packaging's lithium battery marking with the supplier when reviewing the prepared packaging for that shipment. If your battery packs are shipped alone by air, you'll need to check the passenger aircraft prohibition with your shipper before choosing an air service. If your battery pack travels in the same package as equipment by air, check the charge restriction with your shipper when planning that equipment shipment.
