What usually gets a certificate rejected
The platform rarely says which field is wrong. From what sellers have posted about their rejections, it's usually one of these:
- The model or item number on the certificate isn't the one on your listing.
- The age on the certificate (3+) doesn't match the age on your listing (2+).
- The test report is more than 12 months old, or the dates on the certificate and the report don't agree.
- The lab isn't on the CPSC list of accepted labs for those tests.
- The tests don't cover everything your category needs (for toys: ASTM F963, lead, phthalates).
- It's really the supplier's certificate for a different product, with your product name typed in.
- For cosmetics on TikTok, you sent nothing about FDA registration. They'll take either the facility registration or a statement that you're exempt as a small business, but the exemption doesn't cover a few product types, such as eye products or ones meant to change how you look for more than 24 hours.
What to send us so we can check it
- The certificate (CPC or GCC), as a PDF if you have it or a photo if you don't
- The full lab test report the certificate is based on
- A link to the listing that got rejected
- A screenshot of the rejection message, if the platform sent you one
- For cosmetics: photos of the real label, front and back, and whatever FDA registration proof or exemption statement you sent
What you get back within a day
A single page in plain English that covers:
- each field on your documents: matches / doesn't match / missing
- what to fix yourself, and what only your supplier or the lab can fix
- a message you can forward to your supplier, in English and Chinese, asking for exactly the missing pieces
Want us to get it done with your factory? $49 per product for the first 20 products we take on, then $99
We send your factory the questions in Chinese and follow up until they send the missing reports and certificates. We check each document, draft your CPC and label text, and get quotes from two or three CPSC-accepted labs if new tests are needed. Lab fees are paid at cost, with no markup, and at the end you get a finished compliance file for the product.
If you cancel before we start you get a full refund, but once we've started we don't refund.
What we are not
We're not a lab and we don't issue certificates, and none of this is legal advice. If your product needs new testing, the lab does it and you pay the lab directly.
